Staff Accommodation

Many prospective employees are looking for a place to stay during the winter or summer season. Blue Mountain is pleased to offer a limited number of staff accommodation beds to our staff. During the hiring process, we will be able to let you know whether they still have any beds available. However, we still strongly recommend you arrive with pre-booked accommodation.

The average employee pays from $390 to $475 per month for accommodation.

If allocated a room in staff accommodation, your move in date will be pre-arranged with Human Resources. You will need to sign in AND out; a process that involves signing a Tenancy Agreement, learning more about living at Blue, receiving your key and signing a payroll deduction form for your rent.

There is a $200 damage deposit required prior to moving in. This is returned when you leave your room clean and undamaged.
Accommodation will be assigned to you upon your arrival to Blue Mountain. The locations are off site of the Resort but within 15 minutes walking distance to work. You will be expected to walk to and from your work site.

All our locations provide shared cooking facilities (oven, stove, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, a large common/dining area, shared bathrooms, and bedrooms both single and shared with one person are available. You will be asked for your first choice in securing a private or shared room but limited space is available so it may not be possible. Part-time employees are not eligible.

What is included in your rent?
  • Heat & Hydro
  • Wireless internet (common areas)
  • Basic cable television
  • The units are fully furnished and Blue Mountain will supply you with a blanket and pillow for the duration of your stay
  • You must provide your own sheets. (Recommend queen sheets as all beds are different sizes.
  • We will provide one-way transportation from downtown Toronto the first week of December. It will be your responsibility to arrange transportation on or before March 25th at 5 pm.
Extra Costs:
  • Telephones and services are not included in any of our units. It will be the responsibility of the person(s) residing in the unit to call Rogers at 1.888.ROGERS- 1 to arrange an account. You must be 19 years of age to receive the billing in your name. If you are not 19 years of age, it is up to you to arrange a guardian or person of age to take responsibility for billing purposes. Be aware that cash deposits can be up to $300 so it would be useful to have a credit card.
  • There is NO public transportation to/from Collingwood from the Resort at this time. If you need to go to Collingwood, you will need to take a cab. “Ace Cabs” is a good reliable service (705.445.3300). You may also want to travel to Toronto on your days off. Greyhound bus service leaves from the resort once each day in the early morning and returns in the evening. The approximate price is $40 CAD round trip. AUC Tours also operates a round trip transfer and is by activity bus (modified school bus) and $16 CAD each way.
  • Personal items such as an alarm clock, towel, etc.
There are quiet times in staff accommodation for the well being and consideration of all tenants. These are enforced by our Security department and we expect tenants to respect the rules and those they share housing with. Eviction may occur if residents break rules of the Tenancy Act or are found doing illegal activities.
