Who we are:The Patrol Services Team employs 45 paid and an average of 100 volunteers. The team ensures customer service goals are met, providing alpine education and first aid services to skiers, snowboarders and resort guests. Patrollers work to promote safety, ensuring common courtesies on hill and assist guests as required. Patrollers work hand and hand with hill operations in opening and closing the hill and with ongoing hill maintenance throughout our operating hours.br>
What about becoming Volunteer Ski Patroller?Midweek day and / or night volunteers are expected to commit to 12 hours per week, pre scheduled for the entire season.
Shifts: Day: Midweek - 8am - 12pm and 1pm -4:30pm Night: 4:30pm - close. Weekend day volunteers are expected to commit to 2 out of 4 weekends per month, pre-scheduled for the season. Shifts: 2 weekends on / 2 weekends off. 8:15 am – 4:30pm Qualifications:- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be registered or hold current certification with the Canadian Ski Patrol (preferred) or equivalent training (i.e. First Responder / Paramedic Training) - Strong Intermediate skier / snowboarder (able to ski all areas of the resort) - Must possess excellent Employee and Public Relations skills and be of a friendly and cooperative nature - Must be able to reason and react with quick, thoughtful judgment while remaining calm under pressure - Must be able and willing to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment - Successful applicants will be required to complete a criminal background check. Certifications:While some candidates may have previous first aid training and experience others need to complete a course through either the Canadian Ski Patrol or through equivalent training. Below is a list of options you need to consider before applying as we will not accept applications from individuals without current certification or enrollment in a course. Courses are running throughout Ontario this fall are scheduled and registration will fill up fast.

First Responder Training St. John’s Ambulance - Advanced Medical First Responder Visit www.sja.ca for more information or to register. Red Cross - First Responder Courses offered throughout Ontario. Please contact your local Red Cross Branch for course details. Or visit www.redcross.ca, under “Contact Us” click on Ontario Zone for your local branch information. Criminal Background ChecksCriminal background checks are mandatory for all Patrol staff and must be presented before your first day. Checks must be obtained through your local police department where your permanent residence is located. The costs associated are the responsibility of the successful applicant and vary by region.
