What is the Timber Challenge High Ropes?

• At its peak elevation, the Timber Challenge sits 50 feet above the forest floor
• Timber Challenge has seven courses, suited to three difficulty levels – Green (beginner), Blue (intermediate) and Black (expert)
• Featuring more than 75 aerial elements including suspension bridges, ladders, cargo nets, zip lines and much more
• The elements wind through the forest canopy overlooking the Blue Mountain Village and beautiful Blue Mountains, Collingwood and Georgian Bay region

Who can participate?

• Timber Challenge is open to guests 10 years of age and older (some conditions apply). For the younger adventurers, check our Woodlot Low Ropes attraction.

How long is the experience?

• The whole course can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. We recommend you arrive early in the day to have enough time to complete your Timber Challenge adventure.

Important Things to Know

• Closed-toe and closed-back shoes are required
• Guests must be able to reach 5 ft. to access Green courses and 6 ft. to access Blue and Black courses with feet flat on the ground.

Course Progression

• Elements progress in difficulty at each level and guests must advance through the levels to reach the top
• For guests who are daring enough to make it to the Black course, the main feature is a 40 foot auto belay drop that is sure to push your limits.

High Ropes Course Heights (7 Courses)

• Green (3) 10’-20’
• Blue (2) 20’-40’
• Black (2) 40’-60’

Instructional Session

Experienced guides will teach you about your equipment and how to keep yourself secure throughout the course. You will then demonstrate that you can safely make your way through the training course. If our guides are satisfied, it's off to the green course.

Green Course

After the safety training, everyone will start on the green course. This is the lowest and easiest of the three courses. Trek your way from tree to tree on bridges, nets, ziplines and other aerial elements.

Blue Course

After finishing the Green course, confident participants can enter the blue course. This is higher and slightly more difficult than the green course, and has intermediate level aerial elements.

Black Course

After completing the green and blue courses, you can enter the more challenging black course. It offers the highest elevation and challenging elements.

Day Visitor Lodging Guest Adult (16 and older)* Must be 16 years of age or older and able to reach 6 ft. while keeping feet flat on the ground. Up to three hours of full course access including Ground School training. $49 $39 Junior (10-15)* Must be 10 years of age or older and be able to reach 5 ft. for the Green courses and 6 ft. for the Blue courses with feet flat on the ground. Access to the Green and Blue Courses only. 10-11 year olds must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older at a maximum ratio of 2 kids per adult. Up to three hours of Green and Blue course access including Ground School training. $39 $29 * Maximum weight of 275 lbs. Harness, helmet and gloves are provided. Closed-toe and closed-back running shoes required.

Tickets available at the Activity Central building. Weather and conditions permitting. All prices + tax. Mandatory basic instruction provided by trained BMR staff prior to participation. Each course must be completed before proceeding to the next level. Participants must have sufficient physical dexterity and the ability to use the equipment properly. For safety, individuals who have undergone a kidney transplant or pregnant women are prohibited from participating on any ropes course. Additional restrictions may apply.
