Spend Every Day Outdoors

Spring fever! Anyone with kids knows that spring brings with it a restlessness. Windows open, bikes come out of the garage and it’s time to get outside! Even if your family is active during the winter months, spring breathes fresh air into a different kind of outdoor exploration.
Firstly, location is often key when choosing a hotel while travelling with kids. Village Suites or the Westin Trillium House are located close to the shops and restaurants in Blue Mountain Village and each have seasonal swimming pools. If extra space is important, a Resort Home gets you the square footage you want! Blue Mountain offers a total of 12 different hotel and Resort Home options so you’re sure to find something that suits your family.

Day 1

Groceries from the Village Market make it easy for a convenient family breakfast in your room before you head out for your day of adventure. The kids are antsy so an early morning Ridge Runner race is in order followed by some high bouncing fun on the Canopy Climb Net Adventure.

Take a break for lunch at Grand Central Lodge. Its varied menu means your whole family will find something to enjoy.

Accommodate full bellies with a slower pace on the Cascade Putting Course, or a leisurely paddle on the Mill Pond. Then, it’s time for some high-flying action on the Wind Rider Triple Zip. While at ground school, you might as well challenge your high wire skills on the Woodlot or Timber Challenge Ropes Course.

No trip would be complete without finding the perfect souvenir to bring home with you. Take some time to stroll through the unique village shops, and make plans for dinner at Firehall Pizza.

After dinner, grab a sweater and head to the Open Air Gondola for an evening ride up the escarpment. If you’re feeling energetic, there are multiple hiking trails to the top that will ensure the kids sleep at night (wink) Take in the scenic views as the sun starts to set before taking your return gondola trip down to the Village.

Day 2

Rise and shine with a coffee and cocoa from Royal Majesty and watch the village start to come alive. Enjoy a quick morning hot tub before you head out to Activity Central to rent some bikes for a ride around the area.

On top of the escarpment lies another natural wonder waiting for exploration. Scenic Caves Nature Adventures is a quick car ride up the road and offers fantastic views from their suspension bridge, zipline and treetop eco tours and the natural caves and caverns – perfect for discovery. Be sure to grab a bite before you head back to the resort.

Kids love to swim, and Plunge! Aquatic Centre is just the ticket! Get wet at the indoor pool, complete with a splash pad for wee ones or swim outside to enjoy slides, rope swings and action pool.

Take your time walking the boardwalk around the in the Village, enjoy some live entertainment on the stage, and stop at Menchies for a sweet treat before heading back to your room. For dinner, Copper Blues has a great kids menu and an expansive outdoor patio so you can dine el fresco and take in the view of the hills.

If a nightcap is in order, stop by Northwinds Brew House and pick up some craft beer to enjoy on your balcony once the kids are in bed. Enjoy the resort atmosphere under star lit skies and reflect on your perfect days.
