Eighty-five winters in, and we're still not done building a bigger, better Blue. Here's what's new for winter 2026/27 on the mountain, in the village, and everywhere in between.

Blue Mountain turns 85 this winter. Since Jozo Weider first cut a trail into this hillside, every season here has been built on top of the last one and this year is no different. Our snowmaking, grounds, and mountain operations teams spent the off-season doing the unglamorous work that makes for a great season: more pipe, more snowmaking density, smarter systems, and a village with even more going on once the lifts stop turning. Add a full lineup of new programs, new products, and a proper 85th birthday to celebrate, and this is shaping up to be one of our biggest winters yet.
We're marking 85 years the way we mark every winter: by getting people back on snow. All season long, look for throwbacks, nostalgia, and stories from across nine decades on this hill. If you learned to ski here, grew up on our chairlifts, or brought your own kids down for the first time, this is your year to come back and do it again.

Apple Bowl and Calamity Lane
Our snowmaking team finished connecting the flood lines that service Apple Bowl and Calamity, adding more capacity and pushing snowmaking higher up the slope. That means more even snow coverage for our groomers to work with, and a better shot at getting these runs open and skiing well this winter.
Digging Deep in the North SchussSchuss gets the biggest single upgrade on the mountain this year: snowmaking density is doubling across two-thirds of the trail. We've also upgraded the on-hill communication system to support automation, so our snowmakers can react faster when conditions shift, which matters most in a winter that doesn't always follow the forecast.
Picking Prime Locations in the Orchard Butternut and BadlandsIn the Orchard, we doubled the density of snowmaking guns on Butternut and installed close to 9,000 feet of new snowmaking pipe. More guns and tighter spacing means more efficient snowmaking on Butternut and in the Badlands Terrain Park, plus a stronger base for our groomers to build on all season.
A New Layer of Lift Safety Silver Bullet ExpressAt Silver Bullet, our Lift Operations team has installed a state-of-the-art chairlift safety system that monitors the loading area and can detect when a safety bar isn't lowered or a rider isn't seated properly. The system alerts our lift operators before the chair reaches the first tower, so any issue can be caught and guests supported quickly and efficiently.
rich-text, responsive-tableAdd it up and our teams installed 11 miles of new snowmaking pipe across the resort this off-season, along with new valve huts built for easier, more efficient maintenance. Our grounds crews also put in a full summer of landscaping including trimming trees and mowing trails across hundreds of skiable acres. We're making sure the mountain is ready the moment temperatures drop.
