The U8 Race Program at Blue Mountain Resort aims to provide athletes with a strong foundation for their growth as skiers and ski racers. This is achieved by fostering a team environment led by enthusiastic and committed coaches, and by emphasizing individual skill development and consistent training in various environments. Our program uses drills, tactics (including terrain, turn shape, speed, and obstacle courses), and technical training all while maintaining a fun and athlete-focused atmosphere.

The U8 Race Program runs at Blue Mountain and requires no travel to other clubs. We do have an interclub race between Blue Mountain and Toronto Ski Club, which is called the Canning Cup.

Requirements: To participate in the program, individuals must be able to independently ride the chairlift and demonstrate controlled skiing on intermediate slopes (blue terrain) while utilizing poles and maintaining a parallel stance.

U8 One-Day Program:
Participants have the flexibility to choose either the Saturday or Sunday program, allowing them to learn in a team setting and make significant progress in just one day. Our objective is to ensure optimal utilization of their time on the snow. The U8 racers will spend the majority of their time focusing on skiing and skill development through engaging drills, games, tactics, and team activities. The remaining time is split between training courses, as well as races. This balanced approach allows participants to develop and consolidate their skills, gain exposure to a competitive environment, and enjoy a well-rounded ski racing experience
