Subaru Cardboard Classic Race

Only items allowed for the cardboard crafts include: glue, string, cardboard, water-based paint, duct tape, masking tape, packing tape, balloons, and other decorations.

  • No more than 6 people per craft.
  • No children under 4 years of age allowed in crafts.
  • No pets allowed in crafts.
  • An adult must accompany children 4-10 years old.
  • Parent/or guardian must sign release forms for children 17 & under.

  • Heavier crafts tend to move faster. More weight generally means more downhill momentum.
  • Not all cardboard behaves the same. Cardboard with a slick plastic‑coated surface usually slides better and stays intact longer.
  • Long, narrow designs usually travel best. Sled‑style shapes often build the most speed.
  • A layer of duct tape on the bottom can help your glide. It reduces friction and gives your craft a smoother ride on the snow.
  • Think about how weight is distributed. The heaviest end will naturally lead the way downhill. If the back is heavier, expect your craft to spin and head down the slope backward.
  • You can add simple steering aids. Small fins or rudder‑style additions underneath may help with stability and direction.
