    • Skills Camp: Bike

      Let us help turn your child into a confident and safe mountain biker. Skills Camp: Bike will combine a mix of activities to support a healthy love for the outdoors and biking. Coaches teach kids the core skills involved with mountain biking, and spend time practicing these skills until they become second nature.

      Areas of focus include:

      • Correct Body Position
      • Balanced Weight Placement
      • Bike/Body Separation
      • Vision- how to look ahead correctly
      • Bike Set up for Optimal Riding and Control
      • Advanced Cornering Technique
      • How to Brake effectively
      • Correct Technique for uphill and downhill switchbacks
      • How To Clear Obstacles
      • How to Interpret the Trail to Ride Fast and Smooth
      • Bike tuning workshop (basic mechanic skills)
      • Take home drills to practice
      • Trail etiquette
      • Map reading
      • Other camp activities can include:

    • Skills Camp: Multi-sport
      This multi-sport camp will help build physical literacy and conditioning while having fun. Kids will feel motivated with great coaching across a variety of physical activities and sports. Skills Camp: Multi-Sport will keep your child outside and engaged in activities such as soccer, ultimate frisbee, hiking, running, yoga and circuit training. Additional access to Blue Mountain's attractions such as Woodlot, Plunge, High Ropes, and Tennis is also included.

    Prerequisites

    • Kids must be comfortable riding bikes for extended periods of time on varying terrain
    • Kids should be comfortable in varying positions on the bike
    • Should be able to control speed using hand brakes on and off road
    • Have basic understanding of when to change gear
    • All bikes must have front and back hand brakes (Rentals Available) and in good working condition
    • Helmets will be worn at all times


    Must Bring

    • Signed waiver
    • Mountain bike (rental bikes are available but not included and must be reserved prior to camper's arrival)
    • Helmet and gloves (other pads recommended)
    • Peanut-free lunch and healthy snacks
    • Sunscreen
    • Spare inner tube that will fit your bike
    • Water bottle and light pack
    • Rain gear (dress for the weather)
    • Change of clothes
    • Closed toed shoes
    • Swimsuit
