Learn at your own pace, allowing more time for practice and deeper understanding before moving on to the next challenge. Perfect for first timers looking for a better introduction to the sport or experienced riders looking to refine their techniques and reach new levels of performance. If you have participants in both age groups, you can either split the day into separate sessions or keep the group together with a maximum of 5 participants.

Village: Activity Central
The Village Learning Centre is located beside Activity Central, in the heart of Blue Mountain Resort. Private Lessons and Beginner Group Lessons are available here.
South Base Lodge
South Base Lodge is home to Kids Group Lessons and Group lessons, available on Weekends & Holidays throughout the winter season. This Lodge also hosts a Guest Services and Rentals Location. If you wish to sign up for a Kids Group Lesson, South Base Lodge is your ideal place to be. Typically, for a faster pick up, choose South Base Lodge as your rental pick up location.

Full Day Private Lessons
What days and times do private lessons run?
Full Day Private Lessons are available daily at the Village Learning Centre starting at 9:00AM.
Do Private Lessons include rentals and a lift ticket?
Full Day Private Lessons do not include rentals or lift tickets; these must be purchased separately.
Are helmets mandatory?
Helmets are mandatory in all Snow School lessons for participants 17 years of age and younger and strongly encouraged for all lessons participants.
What are the ratios?
Full Day Private Lessons can have up to a 8:1 ratio for participants who are 13+ years old and a ratio of 5:1 for groups with at least one participant aged 6-12.
How can I request a specific instructor when booking a Full Day Private Lesson?
To request a specific instructor, it’s best to email our Snow School team ahead of time at snowschool@bluemountain.ca. For same-day requests, speak with one of our Snow School Supervisors at check-in. Please note that instructor requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Do all Full Day Private Lessons get priority lift line access?
Yes, Full Day Private Lesson participants can enjoy more runs faster with priority lift line access.
How do I book a Freestyle Private Lesson?
Please email our Snow School team at snowschool@bluemountain.ca with your preferred date to book a Freestyle Private. We will make every effort to provide a Freestyle Certified Instructor, although we cannot guarantee availability.
How do I book an Adaptive Private Lesson?
Please complete our Adaptive Recreation Form, and a member of our Snow School staff will contact you as soon as possible.
Will I be contacted before my Full Day Private Lesson?
Yes, if you book your Full Day Private Lesson at least 48 hours in advance, one of our Snow School representatives will call you to help customize your experience. Please ensure the phone number you provide when booking is correct, as we will use it to reach you.
Is lunch included with a Full Day Private Lesson?
Yes, lunch is included in the cost and can be redeemed at one of our signature Blue Mountain dining outlets, such as Jozo’s Original Après, Grand Central Eatery & Market, Bullwheel Pub, or South Base Eatery. A Snow School team member will call to confirm.
Can Full Day Private Lessons accommodate participants of different ability levels?
Yes, when multiple participants are included, the lesson will be adjusted to the skill level of the least experienced skier or snowboarder. However, with a Full Day Private Lesson, you have the option to split the day into different sessions. For example, the instructor can focus on the lower ability level in the morning and the higher ability levels in the afternoon. Please coordinate this arrangement in advance with one of our Snow School team members.
How many additional participants can I add to a 90-Minute Private Lesson?
Up to 4 additional participants aged 6+ can be added for a total of 5 participants per lesson.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Price + HST. Lift tickets are mandatory for all snow school lessons and are sold separately for an additional fee. Lessons do not include equipment rentals and must be purchased separately. If you require rentals, please book in advance to ensure availability, and arrive at least 1 hour prior to your lesson start time to pick up your rentals at Village Activity Central or South Base Lodge Rentals location.
Lessons can be refunded if done more than 3 days prior to planned day of use by contacting refund@bluemountain.ca, and are non-refundable within 3 days of planned use. Resale is prohibited. Opening Day and Closing Day will be determined at the sole discretion of Blue Mountain Resort. All hours of operation are weather and conditions permitting, and are subject to change.
