Spring Into Adventure

Blue Mountain loves all seasons and in true resort fashion, we strive to spend each one outside. We blow off the chill of winter and set our sights on attractions that have been hibernating under the snow, waiting for warmer days so they can emerge for the start of green season fun.
Day 1

Nothing beats jumping into your Blue Mountain adventure with the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster. Control your own speed as you glide through the terrain along 1 km of track at speeds up to 42 km/hr. and take in the views of Georgian Bay shedding its icy layer.

Next, relive your childhood dreams, or make your kid’s dreams come true, by playing on the ultimate tree fort. Canopy Climb Net Adventure, offering rope nets, trampolines, slides, treehouses and watchtowers.

After all that bouncing, you’ve likely built up an appetite for some patio dining. Take a break for lunch at Grand Central Lodge and enjoy your meal while taking in the action of the resort.

Slow the pace with some aerial skill development on the Woodlot Low Ropes, complete with logs and beams, cables and cargo nets and suitable for children over 6 years of age. Adults or older kids who want to challenge themselves can head to Timber Challenge High Ropes where ladders, zip lines and bridges up to 15 m off the ground await.

Fun filled days require some après adventure reflection. Kick back and have a relaxing dinner at The Pottery Restaurant. Taste the flavours of Georgian Bay from a menu that features a variety of food sourced in the region.

Accommodate full bellies with a slower pace on the Cascade Putting Course, or a leisurely paddle on the Mill Pond. Then, it’s time for some high-flying action on the Wind Rider Triple Zip. While at ground school, you might as well challenge your high wire skills on the Woodlot or Timber Challenge Ropes Course.

No trip would be complete without finding the perfect souvenir to bring home with you. Take some time to stroll through the unique village shops, and make plans for dinner at Firehall Pizza.

After dinner, grab a sweater and head to the Open Air Gondola for an evening ride up the escarpment. If you’re feeling energetic, there are multiple hiking trails to the top that will ensure the kids sleep at night (wink) Take in the scenic views as the sun starts to set before taking your return gondola trip down to the Village.

Day 2

Plan a morning hike up one of our many trails across the escarpment, including our Timeline Trail that has interactive boards telling the history of Blue Mountain and a children’s story about Jozo Weider. Grab a bite to eat at Summitview Pavilion before taking the Open Air Gondola back down to the Village.

Cascade Putting Course isn’t your typical mini putt. This beautiful course rests into the base of the slopes and features sloping fairways, waterfalls and tricky limestones to challenge you on every shot.

Next, it’s off to the Millpond to challenge your friends and family to a little Coca Cola Water Trike race. Or, take your time cruising around the pond on a paddle boat. When you tire of your time on the water, there are plenty of restaurants to “time out” for a snack, or retail shops waiting for you to find your take home treasure.

Treat yourself to your cuisine of choice for dinner. Whether you crave some Mexican Tacos, Asian Fusion, Sushi, Greek or Italian, there is something for everyone in the village. Wear off your dinner with some friendly axe throwing at Axed! Trust us, there’s nothing like watching your nearest and dearest channel their inner viking….or lumberjack.

Kids love to swim, and Plunge! Aquatic Centre is just the ticket! Get wet at the indoor pool, complete with a splash pad for wee ones or swim outside to enjoy slides, rope swings and action pool.

Take your time walking the boardwalk around the in the Village, enjoy some live entertainment on the stage, and stop at Menchies for a sweet treat before heading back to your room. For dinner, Copper Blues has a great kids menu and an expansive outdoor patio so you can dine el fresco and take in the view of the hills.

If a nightcap is in order, stop by Northwinds Brew House and pick up some craft beer to enjoy on your balcony once the kids are in bed. Enjoy the resort atmosphere under star lit skies and reflect on your perfect days.
