On the Snow

Snow How Pillar 1

Look for progression pillar 1 of the on-mountain self-learn system and follow the directions to begin learning at your own pace. As you master one skill, move to the next pillar until you've completed all five progression pillars, which will prepare you for all green trails. Keep in mind that these are self-learning resources and there are no instructors to help. If you're interesting in getting help from an instructor, be sure to purchase a lesson or a beginner bundle with a lesson.

Alpine Responsibility Code
Just like driving a car, there are rules when you are skiing and snowboarding on the mountain. The Alpine Responsibility Code provides the basic rules of conduct and must be followed by all who are using the terrain.
  1. Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.

  2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.

  3. Do not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.

  4. Before starting downhill or merging onto a trail, look uphill and yield to others.

  5. If you are involved in or witness a collision/accident you must remain at the scene and identify yourself to the Ski Patrol.

  6. Always use proper devices to help prevent runaway equipment.

  7. Observe and obey all posted signs and warnings.

  8. Keep off closed trails and obey area closures.

  9. You must not use lifts or terrain if your ability is impaired through the use of alcohol or drugs.

  10. You must have sufficient physical dexterity, ability, and knowledge to safely load, ride, and unload lifts. If in doubt, ask the lift attendant.

Après-Ski

After you've spent the day, it's time for après! Après-ski is a popular part of the skiing culture and encompasses the social activities and entertainment after a day of skiing. It's about chatting with the friends or family that you came with, celebrating your accomplishments for the day, and sharing some laughs. Grab a hot chocolate from the base lodge, a cold one from Jozo's, or catch some live music at Bullwheel Pub. However you après, do it your way!
